short hair
Take the plunge and go for a new you ’do. Top chops of the moment take inspiration from model Agyness Deyn’s elfin crop. Since the Brit model first graced catwalks and magazines around the world, many other models and celebrities have adopted her look. Tempted to do the same? Just make sure you have a proper consultation with your hairdresser first. It may look like a cinch to manage, but short hair needs serious maintenance and a trim every four weeks.
Face the challenge Hairstylist and salon owner Philip Barwick says that short hair looks most beautiful when face shape and features are taken into consideration. “Longer faces suit shorter styles where hair is left longer on top; small, round faces can go for more of an urchin crop, with minimal length,” he says.
Short and sleek As for styling, pump up the texture with a product before blow-drying separate layers. Finish by straightening the top layers with a slim straightening iron to reduce the volume. “This will take out any kinks and curls, leaving it sleek enough to emphasise the layers,” says Barwick. Finish with a shine serum or moulding paste.
