Before you begin …
- Speak to your doctor before embarking on a vigorous training regimen.
- Always give yourself time to warm up.
- If you experience any sharp pains in your joints or muscles when training, stop and see your doctor.
Then...
- Double your gym time. Change things around to minimise wear and tear: if you power-walk one day, hit the pool the next (or switch from one cardio machine to another).
- If you can stand the outfit changes, divide exercise into two sessions: cardio in the morning and weights in the evening (or vice versa). You’ll burn more kilojoules that way.
