body challenge 2008 health tips: added extras
- Eat a handful of protein three times a day. Aim for 115 to 170 grams (about the size of a fist) of lean protein, like chicken, fish or egg whites for each meal.
- Drink plenty of water. The rate at which you burn kilojoules drops when you’re dehydrated, so make sure you drink at least two litres of water a day, more if you’re exercising frequently.
- Substitute coffee with green tea. This cheap and safe metabolism booster is high in antioxidants and has energising properties. Try cool and refreshing Lipton Light Lemon Green Tea, $2.09, 1800 638 683.
- Eat plenty of celery, spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, peaches and strawberries among your fruit and veg intake. These foods contain a high concentration of water, so they’ll help keep you hydrated.
