Pre-chop checklist

the pre-chop checklist

  • Before taking the plunge, collect pictures of the hairstyles you like. But don’t get too attached to the cut because the look you’re lusting after may not work on you.
  • But if you have a similar face shape, including cheekbones and hairline, then chances are the style will work.
  • Surprisingly, hair texture is easier to work with, as it can be adapted with styling products.
  • "Make sure you have confidence in your stylist and trust their advice,” Jayne Wild advises. “If you aren’t sure, always have a consultation first.”
  • Try on a short wig pre-chop as it will give you a good idea of how a crop is going to look on you.
  • If you have a round face, keep some length to your hair.
  • If your hair is curly be aware that it may be harder to work with and will take longer than straight hair to grow back if you don’t like the cut.
