What: Spa Dreaming Centre at Peninsula Hot Springs

Where: 140 Devenport Drive, Fingal, Mornington Peninsula, Vic, 03 5950 8777 peninsulahotsprings.com

Philosophy: Spa care from the Australian Dreamtime.

What We Tried: Rejuvenate, $220, 3hrs 30mins.

I love nothing better than a hot bath, so thermal pools are my idea of heaven. Add spa treatments to that and you’ll never get me to leave. Greeted with a delicious fresh juice on arrival, I chose to bypass the natural hot springs and was shown straight to my private bath where I immersed myself in the fragrant 50-degree mineral-rich water. I was already in a state of bliss when my therapist arrived to begin the Kodo massage, a technique inspired by Aboriginal traditions. She fragranced the air with a bark burning ceremony then, using divine massage oils infused with native plants, realigned my energy flow with rhythmical massage strokes and pressure point stimulation. A mask of native quandong was then applied to my hair before my head received a satisfyingly similar treatment to my body.

Treatments and Packages:
Bathing in the thermal pools starts at $18 per person. Spa and bathing packages range from $45 to $440. We particularly love Bathe, $45, which includes access to the public pools for the day and a 20-minute private hot spring mineral bath in the Spa Dreaming Centre. We also like Natural Balance, $140, 2hrs. This includes a soak in the hot pools followed by a visit to the Spa Dreaming Centre for a 20-minute private mineral bath and one-hour full body Kodo massage or Mikirri facial.
