Non-surgical face shaping

non-surgical face shaping

The wind-tunnel face-lift has thankfully blown out of style. In its place: the desire to look youthfully full (call it the Scarlett Johansson factor), now achievable with just a needle. “It’s the most exciting procedure I’m doing at the moment,” says Sydney-based cosmetic surgeon, Dr Anoop Rastogi, who uses Restylane SubQ, a form of the hyaluronic acid doctors inject into lips and wrinkles.

“We inject it right down next to the bone,” he says. “In effect, we produce cheek implants – they’re just injectable ones. The procedure, which takes 20 minutes and lasts for up to two years, suits women whose cheeks have hollowed with age, and those with genetically flatter faces.” Dr Rastogi also uses this procedure to strengthen a “weak chin”. But if the jaw’s getting jowly as a result of age, more treatment may be needed. “Filling the cheeks may help because you’re lifting skin back up,” he says. But he recommends injecting lipolysis, the fat-dissolving compound that de-clogs arteries, to trim jaws. “The two procedures work brilliantly together,” says Dr Rastogi.
