Natalie Portman has tied the knot with Benjamin Millepied.
The Academy Award winning actress wed her
Black Swan choreographer fiancé on Saturday near Big Sur, California. The traditional Jewish ceremony was held at a private home in front of just 60 guests, including her reclusive friend Macaulay Culkin.
Portman, 31, met her 35-year-old French born husband on the set of
Black Swan and the pair already have a 13-month old son named Aleph.
The location of their wedding was known to the press prior to the ceremony, as a friend revealed: "Natalie and Ben will marry in Big Sur. It's one of Natalie's favourite places - whenever she needs a break from LA she goes there.”
The source continued "This wedding is for their closest friends and family. It will be a very relaxed affair. They're not sending out invites. Natalie may not even buy a new dress!"
Jewish Portman was the face of
Miss Dior Cherie until Dior’s then creative director John Galliano was filmed making anti-Semitic remarks in March last year. In response to his actions, Natalie released a statement saying “as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way”.
Portman has maintained a low profile since this incident and the birth of her son. She is due to appear in
Thor: The Dark World, which is the sequel to 2011’s
Thor, in which she played the love interest of Australia’s Chris Hemsworth.
