Kate Moss didn't write her book

Let’s be honest: when a model or reality star announces they’ve penned a book, it’s usually met with scepticism. The word ‘author’ is a loose term when the person doing the writing counts socialite/ model/ WAG as their day job. But while few fess-up to using a ghost writer, model Kate Moss has admitted that she didn’t write a word of new latest book titled Kate: The Kate Moss Book, of which she has a byline.
Surprising? Perhaps not. Surprisingly honest? Certainly. The British model told a reporter at Women’s Wear Daily that her glossy book shouldn’t be credited to her. “Well, I didn’t actually have to write anything,” the fashion publication quoted Moss as saying at her book launch.
While Moss is perhaps not the best public speaker (cue furious publicist), she certainly looked the part at the star-studded event. She wore a draped gold floor-length gold vintage gown by Marc Jacobs, complete with a smoky eye and signature tousled locks. Fashion heavy-weights Stella McCartney, Mario Testino, Donna Karan and Florence Welch also graced the event.
And while her red carpet confession might have caused momentary distress amongst her PR team, the star is showing no sign of letting that stop her from expanding her empire. Counting an eponymous fragrance and Topshop range among her achievements thus far, Moss is also reportedly making a documentary.
She might not be a cookie-cutter model or style icon but one thing’s for sure: nothing can stop Kate the Great.
