I’m a bachelor this weekend. My partner is headed down the coast with a laptop – he’s preparing for a gigantic conference presentation – and our housemate is on a road trip to Melbourne. I’d like to say I’ll spend the next couple of days lazing on the beach and dipping into long, boozy al fresco lunches with friends, but…I live in Sydney. Where summer is a word that, this year, just doesn’t seem to exist.

Of course, rainy weekends are good for a few things: cleaning the house, catching up on sleep, and watching movies.
