Couture lovers prepare - Valentino, the high priest of Italian haute, is coming to town.

Running from the 7th of August to the 7th of November, the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art will run an exhibition showcasing 100 garments tracing Valentino's career from the 1959 opening of his fashion house in Rome to his most recent designs. Including some of his famous creations worn by the world's most stylish women - Jackie Onassis wore Valentino when she mourned President Kennedy and again when she married Aristotle Onassis - 'Valentino, Retrospective - Past/Present/Future' will be complemented by a special children's exhibition exploring the relationship between fashion and art. And ... drumroll please, the man himself will be travelling to Brisbane for the opening.
