Health and beauty secrets: Britney Huinker, Founder of Brazilian Blowout Zero

Tell us a little about yourself.
I am the founder of Brazilian Blowout ZERO, a salon owner, a traveller, a lover of all things beauty and a big fashion fan.

How did you get into the beauty industry?
I have always been a huge lover of hair salons and I always wanted to become a stylist but never did. So I did the next best thing and opened my own salon and spa about 8 years ago. My Salon is called the Argyle Salon & Spa and it has allowed me to explore so many avenues and ventures within the beauty industry - including Brazilian Blowout!

What is your daily beauty regime?
I am surprising very simple.....actually now that I am putting this to paper, yikes I am quite complex. For my face and body a quick wash, eye cream (must), moisturise, moisturise ,moisturise and always always use sun screen.
Wash - Eve Lom (best cleanser ever)
Tone - Arcona Lavender Spray
Eye Cream - Arcona Liquid Crystals
Sunscreen - Total Block SPF 55
I always finish with moisturising my body. It’s very important to me and I am obsessed with Jo Malone Lotion and Cream. I try to wash my hair only every few days - my natural oils help to keep my hair healthy and my style fun. When I do wash, I only use Brazilian Blowout Shampoo and Conditioner to help keep the BB treatment in my hair. I style using the Brazilian Blowout Smoothing Serum, to further help condition and protect my hair. I usually finish with Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray to help give my hair some texture and hold!

What products can’t you live without?
Arcona Triad Pads - these are the best things in the whole world (especially for travelling - which I do a lot of). It’s a great cranberry toner in convenient cotton pads. It cleanses, tones and hydrates all at the same time. Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey Bath Oil and Lotion. And, of course, my signature scent - Tom Ford Black Orchid. I am obsessed.

Where do you do to get your beauty fix? Salon/Hairdresser/spa
Argyle Salon & Spa - I do everything there (hair, make up, spa - all my beauty musts are done at my place). (Argyle Salon & Spa is located in West Hollywood California for the jetsetters out there!)

Does stress ever affect you? How do you like to relax?
Yes it does affect me as it does for everyone, but I like to think I’m pretty good at handling it - sometimes I surprise myself. I try to exercise regularly, eat right and spend time by myself as much as I can which always helps.

How do you like to treat yourself after a hard day at work?
A great dinner, hot bath and wonderful glass of wine.

What is your exercise regime like?
I do something called Cardiobarre and I am an addict. This is cardio ballet and it really helps with my posture, keeping me lean and long.

What is the best beauty advice anyone has given you?
Sleep on your back to defy gravity and stop premature wrinkles on your face.

You travel a lot, how do you keep your hair looking like you just walked out of a salon?
Brazilian Blowout ZERO! It allows me to always have healthy, frizz-free and manageable hair!
