I was glued to the telly this week bopping along on the couch to Robbie, Tom Jones, Kylie and of course, Sir Elton. You too? Thought so. Even though I’m not exactly pro-monarchy, I was completely swept up in the celebratory concert marking Elizabeth II’s 60th anniversary. If there was a Union Jack flag nearby, I swear I would have grabbed it and waved it at the TV with more than just a little enthusiasm.
If this sounds like you too, then I have another great way for you to celebrate from afar as you watch the highlights.
Turns out one of Britain’s most renowned gin makers – Beefeater London (funny name, I know) – has enlisted the help the UK’s finest bar tenders to come up with a range of punch recipes to mark the merriment. The recipes are quintessentially British, having been built on the notion of a classic Pommy punch but also have a slight modern twist. At the core of each recipe is Beefeater’s premium London Dry Gin which has been distilled in the Kennington and won a bevy of awards over the last 10 years.
Below is my favourite pick of the punch (joke … gettit?). I wish you happy mixing. Cheers and God Save The Queen!

His Royal Jamboree Punch is a fruity twist on a traditional recipe and comes complete with a quintessentially English flavour that is perfect for the summer months (hmm, let’s pray the sun comes out for us in the rainy southern hemisphere then).

5 tablespoons strawberry jam
5 tablespoons lemon juice
100ml Dubbonet
300ml red grape juice
