When Marc Jacobs sent out colourful, kitten-heeled Ugg boots on the spring/summer 2010 Louis Vuitton runway we were all a little perplexed, no? But, as ever, the ingenious designer seems to have kick-started a new trend. News is afoot that Jimmy Choo has teamed up with Ugg Australia to produce a one-off collection of sheepskin footwear. The shoes will combine "the legendary comfort of Ugg with the spirit of Jimmy Choo", Jimmy Choo president Tamara Mellon said of the unusual collaboration (FYI, Mellon chose Ugg because they're the only other brand of footwear afforded space in her shoe closet). There'll be five styles in multiple colour options, available at Jimmy Choo and Ugg Australia outlets and selected department stores from October.
