Roopa Pemmaraju’s spring/summer 2012/2013 offering incorporated fabric designs created by renowned Australian Indigenous artists (Jimmy Pike, Shanna Napanangka Williams and Judi Napangardi Watson to name a few). Opening with bombshell Samantha Harris, these prints were applied to simple yet elegant cuts that gave the designs a chance to truly shine. Dresses were long and flowy often dissected with hand embodied belts. Prints clashed with shirts (buttoned to the top) teamed with skimming pencil skirt. The silk coats that draped over the outfits were a nice light-weight idea for summer. The tones were earthy, the overall look very tribal yet very wearable.
