With its creepy music and mirror maze runway, Christopher Esber's show was certainly one of the edgiest collections to be shown this year. Esber took classic tailoring techniques and distorted them to create unusual silhouettes and interestingly proportioned garments. He mixed a variety of different fabrications, from crisp cottons to shag-pile, patent leather and sheer mesh panels - often all in one garment. The simple, subtle white, grey and blue colour scheme complemented the textures beautifully. Most exciting part was his simultaneous debut of menswear on the same runway which utilized the same crisp tailoring & playful proportions of the women's collection with a few metallic cummerbunds thrown in. The verdict? Edgy and raw aesthetics meets crisp lines and refined tailoring.
