Brush up on your ’80s look with a flirty lick of indigo mascara to make your eyes really “pop”

We love the subtle swipe of blue mascara that Maybelline New York make-up artist Charlotte Willer used at the spring/summer 2010 DKNY fashion show. What makes this look so wearable is that the lid is left completely nude, with all colour concentrated on the lashes. To recreate this, apply black mascara as an undercoat and opt for an aqua topcoat. For a subtle variation, try a flattering navy; or to take you from day to night, go for a cobalt blue with a dash of sparkle.

TIP: With mascara this bold, keep the rest of your eye makeup neutral.
