One of the most hotly anticipated films of 2010 is Tim Burton’s interpretation of Alice in Wonderland, starring the delicious Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. To coincide with the launch of the film, Disney has cleverly signed up two cosmetic companies to create products inspired by the surreal adventures of Alice and the aesthetics of Burton’s vision.

Urban Decay Cosmetics has developed a range of products whose packaging opens to reveal a pop-up illustration of Alice, recently shrunken by the “drink me” bottle contents, in the mushroom forest. The colour palette has been given Wonderland-related names, including a white shade called White Rabbit and a bright blue called Alice.

Similarly, O.P.I has developed a set of four nail lacquers with characteristically tongue-in-cheek monikers such as Off With Her Red! and a black glitter called Mad as a Hatter. Fabulously kitsch? You betcha
