masculine make-over

I have a tiny room and want to make it look more masculine - any tips? You haven't mentioned what type of room it is - bedroom, living, dining - so let's go with a few general tips. Colours: I would stick to classic shades, such as eggshell white or beige, mixed with dark timber and a splash of navy to inject some colour (trade the navy for a more vibrant hue in the summer months). This is a practically fail-safe combination. Fabrics: go for linen, cotton, leather, tweed and tartan.
