Experimental Queensland artists such as Ross Manning and Sandra Selig are represented alongside established Australian painters like Richard Bell, Gordon Bennett, Gareth Sansom and Jon Cattapan. Located on Logan Road in the vibrant Woolloongabba area, the gallery has been operating since 2007. Milani Gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 6pm.

    La Boite

    La Boite Theatre Company's 2011 season is in full swing after the 2010 season broke box office record. Under new artistic director David Berthold, the company has attracted an avid youth following, with its 30 and under ticket the highest-selling of the past year. This winter, check out the wickedly funny Edward Gant's Amazing Feats of Loneliness, with extravagant costumes co-designed by Australian fashion house Romance Was Born. From June to September, a selection of “indie” plays sees La Boite showcase fresh, independent theatre; and as the year draws to a close, Underbelly's Gyton Grantley stars in Brendan Cowell's comedy Ruben Guthrie.

    Showing at the Gallery of Modern Art from 3 December to 4 March 2012, ‘Matisse: Drawing Life’ is a definitive exhibition of works on paper by Henri Matisse. Presented in partnership with the Bibliothèque nationale de France, the exhibition will include over 300 drawings, prints and illustrated books from public and private collections around the world. Exploring themes to which Matisse returned throughout his long career, the exhibition will provide a unique insight into the artist’s practice of drawing.
