natural hair colouring

I'm looking for a natural way to colour my hair. My hairdresser tells me there are no good products available outside of chemical ones - do you agree? There is a great salon in Sydney called Atlantis Hair that colours organically (2 Regent St Paddington 02 9361 3977). Also, Aveda has a peroxide free colouring system in all of their hair salons. They have salons in most states, including New South Wales (Lattouf Hair Spa, PReMA), Queensland (Heaven on Adelaide, Colourado Hair Face Body) and Victoria (Zucci, Aspire).
